4th project meeting (Coimbra, Portugal)

The fourth project meeting was organized with the participation of all the project partners in Coimbra, Portugal, between the 9th and the 14th of November 2011 at the Structure of Escola Secundaria de Avelar Brotero.


During the meeting the partners discussed the following :

  • Representatives of e ach partner institution have presented experimental protocols and e-lessons produced in their institutions
  • The need for further implementation of activities with local students within the project framework and the reporting of these activities with film, video or photograph documentation to be inserted in the project webpage was strongly emphasised
  • The general coordinator, Mrs. Epure, has offered to assemble the project CD herself, but each partner is required to send Mrs Epure up to the end of March 2012 all the materials produced
  • Mr Tuzun accepted the proposal made by some delegates to assemble the project booklet. The final version of the project booklet will result from the last meeting in May 2012, in Izmir, Turkey.
  • Mr Papaefthimiou accepted the suggestion to analyse and propose the appropriate format for the preparation of the Mini Electrical Dictionary.
  • The next meeting in Izmir, Turkey, will be held from the 6th to the 12th May 2012.

Laboratory activities : Students from Portugal, Romania and Italy, have made together practical activities for electrical measurements.

During their stay in Coimbra had taken place also the following activities :

  • Study visit to the Mortágua Biomass Power Plant, in Mortágua

  • Study visit to Museu da Ciência (science museum), in Coimbra
  • Cultural visit to the medieval town of Penela and Conimbriga (Roman ruins)

3rd project meeting (Larissa, Greece)

The third project meting was organized with the participation of all the project partners in Larissa, Greece, between the 30th May and the 4th of June 2011 at the Structure of Vocational Training Center AEGEAS.

During the meeting the partners discussed the following :

  • Everyone showed their tools (E-Lessons) and compared the methodology applied by anyone. The result of this comparison is that all partners had the same information into the E-lessons, but changed the method of presentation as the target group for the example Romanian high school students in the E-lessons presented more youthful designed and for example AEGEAS the own E-lessons were designed in a simpler form because was addressed to adult trainees.
  • During the meeting came to the Agenda and the interim report in which it was agreed that the coordinating partner of Romania will notify all partners in the interim reporting standard, and each partner will complete their own local actions.
  • It was also agreed that the project coordinator will be sent by June 9 links to engage all partners in online assessment of E - lessons from the trainees and trainers conducted and their results will be collected and sent to the coordinator .
  • Also for the Portuguese Electronic Dictionary partners expressed their desire to be enriched with new words in the dictionary and that once sent, all other partners each will translate into their own language and we will send to complete the dictionary.
  • During the meeting also discussed the organization's next meeting in Coimbra, Portugal, and agreed to proceed with the arrival on November 9 and departure on 14 November.

During their stay in Larissa had taken place also in the cultural events of the project a series of visits:

  • Workshop: Work safety rules in the field of electrical measurements (visit to TEI-Technical Educational Institution of Larissa).
  • Cultural day trip to the Monastery Complex of Meteora.
  • Visit to Platamonas

On-going activities organized by "Petru Poni"


Students at Technical College “Petru Poni” made practical application using the protocols realised by the Turkish partner. The evaluation of the students was made according to the gride proposed by the Buca Vocational Technical School from Izmir, Turkey.

On going activities organized by the Center of Vocational Training "Aegeas"

The Center of Vocational Training "Aegeas" visited on the 23rd of May the Local Manpower Organization (the organization responsible for the unemployed individuals in the region). There, it had the ooportunity to present the project, the training protocols and the e-lessons to the teachers of the electronics department. In addition to dealing with the unemployed individuals on a daily basis, the Manpower organization also provides 2 year long vocational training courses to individuals aged 18 and above. The teachers received the project deliverables and indicated that they will use them during the course of electronics.

3rd project meeting (Larissa, Greece)

The third meeting to take place within the framework of implementation of project “VET-ELM – Integration of Innovative Methodologies for Electrical Measurements” is going to be organized in Larissa, Greece, from the 30th of May until the 4th of June 2011. Among recapitulating the project activities so far and planning the activities for the immediate future, a workshop dedicated to the e-lessons for training in electrical measurements and also a mini symposium on the safety rules in the field of electrical measurements will be also organized.

On-going activities organized by the Avelar Brotero Secondary School

The local activity implemented on the 13th May entailed having the full class involved in the VET-ELM project (12-PEL, meaning the 12th grade of the Professional Course in Electricity) performing experimental work.

These students performed the four experiments whose experimental protocols José Reis and Jorge Diniz presented during the project’s meeting in Italy.

Students at Technical College “Petru Poni” made practical application using the protocols realised by the Greek partner. They translated in Romanian the protocols made by Center of Vocational Training “Aegeas” and, after that, they made current, voltage and resistance measurements by directs methods.

An article dedicated to the project appeared in the local Romanian newspaper "Onesti Express".

The article presents the experience of the Romanian teachers and students during the project meeting in Naples.

On going project activities by Technical College "Petru Poni"

Within the framework of the project, students at the “Petru Poni” Technical College, Romania , made practical applications using the protocols made by Escola Secundária De Avelar Brotero, Portugal . They have translated the protocols, identified instruments and devices, made the electrical diagrams, wrote down the drawn data and drew personal conclusions.

The students were very enthusiastic to work at this.

2nd project meeting (Naples, Italy)

The second project meeting was organized with the participation of all the project partners in Naples, Italy, between the 9th and the 14th of February 2011. The Italian project partner Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale Alessandro Volta hosted the meeting at its premises and was responsible for the organizing of all accompanying activities.

Study visit:
A study visit to the school’s museum, which displays 100 year old books and electronic measuring devices.



Classes assistance:
Italian students learnt how to dimension a lighting installation using computer-assisted programs.



Workshop 1:
Comparative study regarding the direct measurement methods.
The Portughese partner, who was responsible for the comparison of the data sent by all the rest project partners and the compilation of a study, presented the findings of this comparative study. The Romanian, Turkish, Greek, Italian and Portughese participants expressed their opinion concerning the papers presented.


Workshop 2:
A second workshop took place in order to discuss the elaboration of a mini-dictionary with technical words used in the electric and electronic fields. The partners discussed about the possible content of the mini-dictionary.



Cultural activities:
The meeting’s cultural program included a visit the historical city center o Naples, the National Archaeological Museum and the Botanical garden.

2nd project meeting

The second project meeting will take place from the 9th until the 13th February 2011 in Naples, Italy and will be hosted by the Italian project partner Instituto Tecnico Industriale Statale "Allessandro Volta".
